My brother Kevin came out for an AWESOME snowboarding trip. We boarded on fresh powder 4 of the six days. Could not have timed it better!

Sun: Bluebird

Not a whole lot going on snow-wise in the Alps. No options other than mess around on the glacier.

December 4, 2004 Zermatt/Cervinia

Sun: Bluebird
Wind: None
Temps: -15C to -7C
Snow: Powder (60cm fresh from previous few days)

No new snow in the Lake Geneva area means a mandatory trip down to Zermatt. 5AM dawn patrol to arrive at Tasch by 8:00am. Train up to Zermatt, then the long walk across the village make us nearly on the first lift up.

Absolutely perfect day. Cold, no wind, and clear skies. A pretty good dump occurred over the last several days with 60cm accumulated, 35cm in the last day. The conditions were good but as the day wore on the powder became heavy in the sun and forming crust by the mid afternoon. The shady spots stayed good all day. Met with Scott, whom we met there last year at the same time. He showed us his offpiste routes on the Cervinia side. Good day but all the postholing around got the better of my by midday. It gets to be a lot of work when combined with an altitude of 3800m.

I took lots of video but that will have to wait for my new 'puter to arrive....
